School Uniform & Dress Code

Our choice of school uniform has been made in consultation with pupils and their families. Key benefits of our approach to school uniform being:

  • Items are readily available at reasonable cost from a range of shops including supermarkets

  • Items are comfortable for our pupils to wear

  • Items are easy to maintain and wash as required

Uniform will include a light blue polo shirt, with a navy-blue crew or V-neck jumper for colder days (no hoodies). Both items should be plain with no logos, slogans, stripes or different coloured collars and can therefore be bought relatively cheaply from most supermarkets etc. Normal black trousers, tailored shorts or skirt (knee length or longer) should be worn. Footwear remains black shoes, not trainers.

For those who wish to have a fleece or gilet with the school logo embroidered on, these are acceptable and can be purchased from Totally Uniform.

Hairstyles

Hairstyles are classified as part of school uniform. It should be noted that a “smart” style is required.  The Headteacher reserves the right to decide what is classified as smart. Tramlines and colours are not acceptable.

Nails and Nail Art

Pupils are not permitted to wear nail extensions. Pupils should not wear coloured or patterned nail varnish.

Pupils who study BTEC Level 1/WJEC Entry Level 2/3 Hair and Beauty as part of their Pathway options may take part in units that cover nail art and nail design. Pupils studying this course will be allowed to keep/wear their chosen designs for a number of days specified by the class teacher.
